About Bosphorus Gateway

A firm built for the space between advisers.

Bosphorus Gateway explains the firm’s rationale, advisory role, professional principles and regional focus without unnecessary corporate narrative or unsupported claims.

Why the firm exists

Family wealth often becomes difficult to govern before it becomes difficult to count.

Entities accumulate. Family members live in different jurisdictions. A founder’s informal decisions become an ownership system for the next generation. Advice expands, but responsibility for the whole remains unclear.

Bosphorus Gateway was established to address that coordination gap: not by replacing specialist advisers, but by giving the family one disciplined process through which their work can be understood, challenged and implemented.

Bosphorus Gateway brings together professionals with substantial experience in family office advisory, governance, succession, ownership matters and cross-border coordination. Any statement about experience or completed projects must be capable of substantiation before publication.

Our role

The firm acts as a strategic adviser and coordinator. An engagement may define the question, establish decision criteria, organise facts, compare alternatives, brief specialists and govern implementation. Formal legal, tax, regulatory, fiduciary and investment advice remains with appropriately qualified professionals.

How we think

Six principles shape the firm’s advisory work.

01

Purpose before vehicles

Structures are tools. The starting point is what the family wants to preserve, change or make possible.

02

Authority before administration

Reporting lines, decision rights and owner expectations should be clear before systems and staff are added.

03

Trade-offs made explicit

Control, flexibility, simplicity, protection and tax efficiency rarely point in exactly the same direction.

04

Simplicity as a discipline

Every entity, committee and report should have a clear purpose. Complexity is not evidence of sophistication.

05

People are part of the design

Documents cannot compensate for unprepared owners, unresolved expectations or information withheld from those expected to decide.

06

Implementation matters

A recommendation should identify who does what, in what sequence and against which review points.

Independence

Bosphorus Gateway does not gather assets or distribute investment products. Any referral arrangements, external remuneration or material commercial relationships should be disclosed to the client. Independence is not a slogan; it is a fact that must be supported by the firm’s engagement terms and remuneration model.

Regional focus

The firm is based in Hong Kong and focuses on families whose ownership, residence, business interests or future plans connect Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey. This describes the client and advisory footprint. It does not imply offices or local regulated capabilities that the firm does not maintain.

The objective is not more advice. It is a decision that holds together.
